The Slow Readers Club – Leeds Project House 7.12.24

First visit to this relatively new venue in Leeds. Good space, good and easy service at the bar…..shame about the low stage, so viewing is hampered to gaps between heads…

The Slow Readers Club always deliver, their 12 years under this set up have been well spent, Aaron’s voice can shift from falsetto to baritone within a breath, and the band are on great form. For me the eponymous first album, second album Cavalcade and then Build a Tower which were all pre-Covid have been by far their high water marks for consistency. Thankfully we get maybe 10 songs from that period.

The new album is due in March, it will be good, but will it be great?
